We are excited to inform you of an important update to our after-school program for students in 6th-8th grades. Based on requests from parents and staff, we are expanding our middle school after-school program to provide opportunities for competitive sports and enrichment activities, including a music program, and ongoing academic support.
Starting December 2, 2024, the program will transition from Right at School (RAS) to direct management by our school team. This change will allow us to create a program specifically designed to meet the interests and needs of our middle school students. We are pleased to share that Mr. Lee, our 7th-grade teacher, will lead this effort as the After-School Athletic Director and Expanded Learner Coordinator.
Program Details:
· Hours: The program hours will remain the same 3-6 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 12-6 PM on Wednesdays.
· Activity Selection: In the coming days, you will receive an application form with information of activities from Mr. Lee.
We are grateful to RAS for their willingness to engage in a collaborative process to enhance the experience of our middle school students. RAS will continue serving our TK-5th grade students. Luther Burbank Elementary and Right at School are committed to providing a safe and enriching environment for all students.
If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Mr. Lee via email at kjlee@lbsdk8.org.
